in 2030 the seniors will be people that grow up in this years and todays generations have seeing how technology change and grows and follow the trends, it is part of our lives and it will continue to be on the future .
Social media has taken over the with its rapid growth while having a platform for most ages ranges to relate to. One form that has not yet seen its full potential is virtual reality. Virtual reality has been a very fascinating device that many have not yet gotten their hands on or learned about all its features.
While the younger generations are slowly trying to get into this device it could also be a lifesaver to seniors. With many factors to blame like constant aches and pains, busy children and grandchildren, depending on others and so much more, 10%-15% of seniors can feel some type of depression which can also increase to 30-40% when living in a retirement home, this is where the virtual reality can make a difference. Seniors relive, reconnect and gain excitement as well as interest in something new this will be able to keep minds going and possibly learn new things.
By 2030 there will be endless amounts of new advancements to this device that can cater to and help many needs of senior and many families may look into investing one for their loved ones.

The use of social media can have positive aspects as well as negatives for seniors. Positives aspects are the involvement into the community with the participation of adults on social events and volunteer programs, hence the social sites, elder can known the upcoming dates.
Other positive aspect are the information about healthy activities with the help of technology advances and communication. This is important for elder people, because some of them can not interact personally with doctors or specialist to get information. The support of local communities also increase the usage of social media in seniors. For most adults is difficult to find a place, where they can learn how to use internet, some of them do not have the money to paid for a teacher or center. Negatives aspects are security and special sites for elder people, where they can read properly, which is a great opportunity for marketers to build new sites with big fonts and images. By 2030 the community and apps for seniors will increase due the demand, along with high technology there will be more activities to do online (Matsuura, 2017).

The tendency of using social media has became the new thing to do. Therefore seniors do not want to stay behind, although the increase will going slowly due aspects like security and the lack of knowledge, adults prefer to learn how its works. For many reasons people want to create and use social media apps, most of the reasons are because they want to share images, information and see what’s going on, but for the seniors is more likely to use them for personal aspects such as: be connected with family and friends, search for health news, shop online, which is the most popular and with a higher rate of increase for the next years.
Seniors use once in while some social media such as YouTube and Facebook. By 2030 the use of social media will increase. The tendency is that 55% of seniors in U.S.A. in the ages of 50 and 64 now have an account in Facebook (Smith and Anderson, 2018)

Nowadays social media are very common, people spend a lot of time navigate through apps like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and others.
Based on Pew research, 7 people out of 10 of all ages use social media (Mickey, 2018).
As the image shows every 60 seconds the social media increases with 600 new videos on YouTube, with 320 new twitter accounts. This is just a small example how is the impact of social media in our lives (Conor, 2015).

In the last years, the lack of opportunities and places to gather information to know how the internet works, was one of the main reasons for seniors to depend of someone else, which was difficult for them because the use of smartphones was expensive and not common within the society. Now there are communities where seniors can share and learn the basic functions to be connected with others and even better enjoy apps like Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter.
The use of social media in seniors has increased due the rise of smartphones usage. In 2000 the 14% of the population in U.S.A. used internet, now more than 67% of seniors ages 65 and older are going online. Besides, the usage vary based on demographics factors such as education, income and age (Smith and Anderson, 2018).

In U.S.A. 76% of smartphone-owning seniors use internet several times a day. As the image shows the 51% of seniors use the internet several times and 8% almost constantly. (Smith and Anderson, 2018)
